In addition to your own troops, you will have
the opportunity to hire mercenaries to help invade neighboring
lands. These mercenaries serve under you for only a single
attack, and they expect their reward in gold. While Mercenaries
can give you military might you couldn't otherwise achieve,
be warned that you will pay a steep price in doing so.
Mercenaries have 2 offense points, but you
have to pay for them, and you have them for only one attack!
When you build dungeons, you will make prisoners
of war when you attack, and those will be available as free mercenaries
for the next attack.
Before you can train specialists and elites (and thieves) you have
to draft soldiers by setting your draft rate (this will be a percentage
of your population).
Soldier draft costs vary depending on how fast you want to
draft them. Don't forget to set reservist draft rate when
you have more soldiers than you can train or use for exploring!
Your draft rate should be around 60-67 % |
